Colocasia/ Taro/ Arbi/ Chepankizhangu fries


  
A perfect companion on a chilly afternoon. This dish goes well with hot rice and sambar or even as an afternoon snack with your tea or coffee. Taro roots contain high levels of  vitamin A, C,E and folate along with magnesium, iron, zinc, phosphorus, potassium, manganese, and copper. 

Ingredients:

Taro : 5-6 roots

Chilli powder: 2 tsps

Salt: according to taste

Oil for frying
Method:

  1. Half Boil the Taros just enough to remove the skin. You could also scrape the skin without boiling. 
  2. Cut the Taros into thin slices.  
  3. Heat oil in a wok and deep fry the sliced Taros. 
  4. While warm sprinkle chilli powder and salt and toss well.
